乗るだけで旅行気分が味わえる乗り物特集の第二弾、パタヤ編です。

パタヤとバンコクでは同じタイだし、移動手段は似たようなもんでしょうと思うかもしれないですが、
移動手段の生態系は全然異なっています。
パタヤはバンコクよりも長距離の移動は少ないこともあり、
また、街の成り立ちがバンコクとは異なり、欧米人向けのまちづくりとなっています。
というのも、
パタヤはもともとベトナム戦争時の米軍の保養地として発展した街。
その後観光都市となったという経緯があります。
なので、建物やお店、遊び方がアメリカン風な雰囲気が漂っています。
それではパタヤの移動手段を紹介しましょう。

ソンテウはパタヤの移動手段としては一番メジャーな移動手段です。
ソンテウはいわゆる乗り合いの小型トラック、乗り合いバスです。
パタヤの移動バス/ソンテウ 右側にビーチ。まっすぐ行くとウォーキングストリートがあります。
ソンテウはパタヤの町中を周回しています。
そもそもパタヤの中心地域は交通が一方通行になっています。
なので、たくさんのソンテウがずっとグルグルと回っています。
ソンテウを乗るときにはソンテウに向けて軽く手を上げれば止まってくれますので、
ソンテウが停まったらそのまま乗り込んでしまって大丈夫です。
ソンテウは一定のルートで走っているので、自分の降りたい場所に到着したら
乗り場についているブザーを押せば停まってくれます。
降りたら、運転手のところに行き、お金を支払います。
ソンテウは貸し切りすることも出来ます。
乗客が空っぽのソンテウを見つけたら貸し切りすることが出来ます。
行き先はソンテウの周回外でも構いません。
乗る前に行き先と金額の交渉が必要です。
交渉の後、値段が決まったら乗り込み、行きたい場所に到着したらお金を払って終わりです。

お金は一人あたり10バーツ（33円程度）です。
場合によっては20バーツ（70円程度）です。
そのあたりは結構適当です。タイらしい、、、
とても安いですね！
貸し切りの場合は一人あたり100バーツ程度。
もしくは、全員で200バーツなどです。
人数によっても変わります。そのあたりは交渉次第かと思います。
移動手段第一弾バンコク編でも書きましたが、
バイクタクシーです。
パタヤ内での移動手段は基本的にこのバイクタクシーかソンテウの二択と考えておいて問題ないです。
バイクタクシーは小回りが効き、ソンテウだと一方通行でしか動けないですが、
小道（ソイ）に入って移動することが出来、ショートカットすることが出来ます。
その点、パタヤで遊ぶときには、
地理感覚をなんとなく持った上で移動手段は選ぶことをおすすめします。
バイクタクシーは、バイクの近くでオレンジのベストを来ている人がいたら
声をかければ乗せてくれます。
乗る時に行き先を伝えること、値段を交渉することは必須です。
メーターのようなシステムは持っておらず、
距離に応じて値段を提示されるので、
ざっくりgooglemapでどれくらいの距離を移動するのか自身で把握しておくことをおすすめします。
ただし、バイクタクシーの方が、ソンテウに乗るよりも値段が高くなるのが基本です。
だいたい100バーツなどでしょうか。
まぁ330円程度です。
